Street condition

Our asphalt streets have been in place about 30 years and are showing their age.

Many areas are beginning to break up with some sinking near manhole covers and where tree roots are starting to incroach.

I’ve not seen anything concerning street maintenance or replacement plans and am concerned the damage will reach a point where overlays and simple repairs will not be good enough.

Some years ago the HOA had the asphalt company survey the condition each year, sealing large cracks and making repairs.

We also had a property committee that walked the property at least once a year to record concerns and present those to the board for review.

Before the streets become a major expense, it might be wise to have them surveyed to determine what can and should be repaired. These are our streets and it’s up to us to maintain them.
